How do Domains work ?

Domain names work by providing a human-readable and memorable address for a website, which can then be used to locate and access the website on the internet.

When a user enters a domain name into their web browser, the browser sends a request to a DNS (Domain Name System) server, which acts as a directory for all domain names and their corresponding IP addresses. The DNS server then responds with the IP address associated with the domain name, allowing the browser to establish a connection with the website's server.

The website's server then sends back the requested web page to the user's browser, which is displayed on the user's device.

Domain names can be registered through us or a registrar, which is an organization authorized to manage the registration of domain names. Domain names are typically registered on a yearly basis, and owners can renew their registration to continue using their domain name.

How do I point my domain to Deasoft Hosting?

To set up your domain at the registrar to point to one of our servers, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your domain registrar account.
  • Navigate to the domain management section for the domain you want to set up.
  • Look for the option to change the nameservers for the domain.
  • If you have one of our Australian Hosting plans enter:
    - ns1.aussiednsserver.com
    - ns2.aussiednsserver.com

If you have one of our USA Hosting plans enter:
    - ns1.hostdnsserver.com
    - ns2.hostdnsserver.com

  • Save the changes and allow for the propagation time, which can take up to 48 hours, for the changes to take effect.
  • Once the changes have propagated, your domain will be pointing to our server through the designated nameservers.
